A boutique studio, opening its doors
Coralian is a boutique studio. We make independent cinema, and we make it with care. From time to time we open the practice to new collaborators — people whose approach to the work meets ours somewhere we both want to be.
Roles we keep on file
We keep an evolving roster of writers, directors, producers, cinematographers, gaffers, focus pullers, editors, colorists, sound designers, composers, production designers, costume and art department leads, casting directors, and performers. We also work with assistants and crew at every level of the call sheet — first jobs welcome.
How we work
A few commitments we hold the studio to — and that we hold our collaborators to in return.
Respect for time. We don't follow up. We trust each other to honour what we said we would do, and to speak early when something is in the way. Time given back to the work is time the work needs.
A safe set. A film set is a place of trust. We hold a zero-tolerance line on harassment, intimidation, and any conduct that makes someone smaller — and the room is built to protect every voice on the call sheet equally, from first-time PA to lead.
Fair to partners. The people we collaborate with — sound designers, colourists, production houses, composers, performers — are not vendors. We pay on time. We credit generously. We never use an idea without the person who brought it.
Writing over meetings. We prefer a sharp note over a long call. Writing slows us down enough to think — to find the real question before we ask anyone to spend an hour answering it. Most of what we make begins on the page.
How we respond
Leave your details with us. We hold every submission and reach out when a project finds you. There is no deadline — the form is open all year, and there is no pressure to follow up.
Submissions are reviewed by Arturo, Akshay, and Héctor. We answer only when there is something real to discuss — quiet replies are honest replies, and we'd rather hold our word until a project is true than send polite notes that mean nothing.
The form
Tell us about your work, what you do, and where you'd like to take it. A few links are enough — a reel, a site, a folder of stills, a manuscript. We read everything.
The form is hosted on Google Forms and opens in a new tab. Your submission is shared only with the founding team.
