About — A note from the studio

Films that reveal themselves over time.

i — Philosophy
i.

The stories that stay with us are rarely the loudest. They are the ones that continue to unfold long after the final frame fades.

They live on in thought, in feeling — in the quiet ways they shape how we see the world and ourselves. These are stories that become part of us.

They do not simply reflect culture. They contribute to it.

At Coralian, we are drawn to stories with intention and a distinct artistic voice — work that reveals itself over time, that invites reflection rather than demanding attention.

We approach every project with care and precision. Every choice is considered. Nothing is arbitrary.

We work across formats — narrative features, shorts, and select collaborations with artists, writers, and other production houses — but the pursuit remains the same: cinema that resonates beyond the screen.

ii — The team

Arturo Alanis Garza

Arturo Alanis Garza

Founder · Director · Writer · Producer

A Mexican filmmaker. NYU Tisch graduate. Across a decade Arturo has worked on more than a hundred productions across the United States, México, Spain, Greece, France, Nepal, and India — features, series, shorts, music videos. His shorts Olvidadizo and Lamia have been awarded at the Barcelona Film Festival and NFFTY Seattle. He founded Coralian to make work at the edge of myth and the everyday.

Akshay Pawar

Akshay Pawar

Partner · Producer · DP / Director · Photographer

A producer, cinematographer, photographer, and director whose practice began without a film school — a borrowed camera, long hours of watching, and a belief that pictures could hold what words couldn't. Akshay's work moves between long-form fiction & non fiction and visual-led commercial work across India and internationally — drawn always to projects that reveal rather than perform.

Héctor Andrés González

Héctor Andrés González

Partner · Head of Operations · Writer · Producer

A writer and producer whose work crosses scripts, short fiction, comics, and novels. Héctor moves between forms with the conviction that the discipline of one strengthens the next — that a story tested first in prose finds a different rigor on the page than on the screen. At Coralian he leads operations and helps shape stories from logline to final draft, steering the studio's day-to-day while keeping the writing at the centre of everything the studio does.

iii — Place
iii.

Coralian was born in Monterrey, in the north of México, where the desert meets the sierra. The landscape teaches you to wait — for light, for weather, for the moment something becomes itself. Today the studio lives in two cities — Monterrey and Mumbai — and travels to wherever the work calls.

We have built our practice around that patience. We write our own films and we collaborate with artists, writers, individuals, and other production houses when the work calls for it.

iv — Practice
iv.

We work at the intersection of arts and commerce.

Coralian's centre is original cinema — films we write, develop, and produce on our own terms.

Around that centre is a commissioned arm: brand films, music videos, documentaries, campaign and editorial photography. Work made for partners who want the same craft, the same patience, the same eye for a single frame.

The two feed each other. Both held to one standard.
